York, advisor) in Crop Science from North Carolina State University in 1996 and 1999, respectively. Katie was an intern with DuPont in 1991 and 1992. Upon completion of her Ph.D., she worked with American Cyanamid (1998-2000) as a Field Agriculturist, where she conducted small plot research for weed, disease, and insect control in traditional row crops. In 2000, American Cyanamid was acquired by BASF. Katie worked with BASF from 2000 to 2003 in a variety of positions. She was a Biology Project Leader in 2000 with responsibilities in vegetables and small fruit crops. In 2001, Katie accepted a position as a Field Biologist where she focused her efforts on fungicide research. During 2003 she became an Insecticide Field Program Coordinator responsible for coordinating EUP and post-registration insecticide field trials for required EPA data. In addition to working with BASF she also taught several introductory biology courses at Johnston Community College. She joined NC State University in 2004 as a Researcher with interests including herbicide efficacy and carryover, weed/crop competition, weed biology, and field residue studies.
